Pierogi Workshop and Polish Cooking Classes in Wroclaw
Hi there, you Pierogi-hungry readers…
Today we have a little funny story to share, and hope that it might help somebody else coming across the same challenges… We talk about the possibility to have a Pierogi cooking workshop in Wroclaw, since that did not turn out to be an easy thing at first. But let us start at the beginning.
We had a very nice guest staying in our holiday apartment in Wroclaw, and he asked us about the possibility to have Pierogi cooking lessons in Wroclaw. We did our research, first online, and it turns out to be quite challenging to find something in that direction outside of Warsaw or Krakow. Even in Szczecin we would know exactly where to go (here to Anna and Polish Your Kitchen). But in Wroclaw? Nope.
How to find Pierogi workshops and Polish Cooking Classes in Wroclaw?
So, we started to ask around, people who know people, who know people, and so on. We checked with our favorite Pierogarnia, but they did not have somebody available to support in English during that period of two weeks when our guest stayed in Wroclaw. Finally, through a group on Facebook, we found what turned out to be the perfect match: Laryssa!
This is the message we got, and it probably explains everything well:
I run cozy pierogi workshops where I come directly to your home and organize the whole class there. I bring all the ingredients and equipment needed – you just relax and enjoy the experience!
During the workshop, I’ll teach you how to make traditional Polish Żurek soup and 2–3 types of delicious homemade pierogi from scratch. If u want to learn something more specific with polish cuisine we can check if it’s also possible for me to show u that!
It’s a fun, hands-on experience perfect for friends, family, or just people interested in polish cuisine and that like good food. Let me know if you’d like to host one!

Well, and we were lucky twice since our guest invited us too to join the Pierogi workshop (thanks again!) in our holiday apartment. We were very curious and of course joined the experience. We had a lot of fun, and therefore can highly recommend it to anybody staying in Wroclaw in a holiday apartment like ours. We prepared the traditional Pierogi (Ruskie) but also some with pumpkin filling, a variation of smaller Pierogi normally prepared for Christmas (Uszka) and Silesian potato dumplings (Kluski śląskie).
