Official Lightning of the Christmas Tree 2025
The official lighting of the Christmas tree in Wrocław typically takes place on December 6th each year (in 2025 already on the 5th!), coinciding with the celebration of Mikołajki (St. Nicholas Day), a festive day in Poland. This event marks the start of the city’s Christmas festivities and children also get to welcome Santa Claus.
The Christmas tree lighting is a major highlight, with the tree being illuminated in a notable ceremony attended by many locals and visitors. The lighting takes place in the Market Square (Rynek), where the market and other festivities create a vibrant holiday atmosphere. The Christmas tree remains lit well into January, extending the festive spirit long after the official lighting day.
