Ice Rink at Market Square

During the winter season and especially around the school winter break (ferie zimowe), the city sets up a temporary ice skating rink right on the Market Square (Rynek) — in one of the most iconic public spaces in Wrocław.  

• Location: central Market Square (Rynek), Wrocław, Poland.
• Seasonal: Open typically during winter holidays — for example, from 2 to 15 February this season.  
• Hours: Generally 10:00 – 20:00 daily, with some special early starts on weekends.  
• Format: The rink isn’t a permanent full-size ice facility but a smaller temporary pad (~30 × 10 m) right in the square, with views of the town hall and historic buildings.  
• Admission & skates: Tickets cost about 10 PLN, and ice skate rental is included (with about 140 pairs available).  
• Family friendly: There are ‘walk-aids’ and training aids for kids and beginners.  
• Session structure: Typically 45 min on the ice + 15 min break to clean and maintain the surface.  

This pop-up rink adds extra charm to Wrocław’s winter atmosphere, especially when paired with the holiday stalls, lights, and festive ambiance of the square.
