EUROPEAN FOLK – A Musical Journey to the Heart of Europe
EUROPEAN FOLK is a captivating musical journey through the ethnic and folk heritage of Europe — a story of traditions, emotions, and history preserved in the songs of nations across the continent.
Concert Programme
The repertoire features music from Poland, Ukraine, Hungary, Latvia, Finland, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Italy, France, Serbia, Greece, North Macedonia, and Lithuania, creating a rich cultural panorama in which each region presents its own distinctive voice.
Every song is a reflection of the culture, customs, and everyday life of its homeland. For centuries, these melodies have carried stories of historic events, beliefs, love, hardship, and celebration. Many works include texts by outstanding poets as well as traditional wisdom passed down through generations — filled with reflection, humour, life lessons, and symbolic meaning.
The concert reveals Europe’s diversity in all its vibrant colours:
from the melancholic melodies of the North,
through the subtle lyricism of Central Europe,
to the fiery spirit of the Balkans.
Distinctive rhythms, harmonies, and musical scales characteristic of each culture come together to form a rich and immersive mosaic of sound, inviting audiences to experience both deep nostalgia and the joyful energy of traditional dances and folk songs.
This is more than a concert — it is an artistic encounter with centuries-old heritage. It shows how songs unite generations, build community, and remind us that despite cultural differences, Europe is rooted in shared values and emotions. It is a unique opportunity to celebrate music that fosters intercultural dialogue and reveals the beauty of Europe’s many-voiced tradition.
