Yulianna Avdeeva & NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra — Better Together

One of the world’s most celebrated pianists returns to the National Forum of Music Wrocław for the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra’s season finale. Yulianna Avdeeva, First Prize winner of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, joins violinist-director Alexander Sitkovetsky for a programme spanning Viennese elegance to 20th-century experimentation.

Highlights include Alfred Schnittke’s Piano Concerto — a collision of musical styles — and Mendelssohn’s astonishing Double Concerto in D minor, written when the composer was just fourteen years old. The programme opens with Mozart’s radiant Divertimento and includes a rarely performed string sextet from Richard Strauss’s final opera.
