XXXIII Johannes Brahms Festival of Organ and Chamber Music “Non Sola Scripta”

When the summer sun hides behind the towers of Wroclaw’s Ostrow Tumski, within the walls of the Gothic Collegiate Church of the Holy Cross and St. Bartholomew, a tradition of over thirty years comes to life. The Festival of Organ and Chamber Music “Non Sola Scripta” proves that in classical music, the score is just the beginning.

The name means “not only what is written” – an artistic manifesto and invitation to a world where works of masters become the basis for bold experiments. The powerful sound of the organ enters into dialogue with unexpected instruments – violin, saxophone, bagpipes, Celtic harp, chromatic harmonica, hurdy-gurdy, frame drums and more. Overseen by its founder, Prof. Dr. Hab. Andrzej Chorosinski.

The summer concerts are also a rare opportunity to enter the normally closed collegiate church and experience its monumental acoustics as a living instrument.
