VSJF: Adam Jarzmik Quintet
Adam Jarzmik Quintet is a band formed in 2016, bringing together the leader’s close friends—some of the most promising young musicians on the Polish jazz scene.
From the very beginning, the group has earned widespread recognition, receiving numerous awards, including First Prize at the 19th Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa Festival and the Grand Prix of the 53rd Jazz nad Odrą Festival. The quintet presents music that is both mature and thoughtfully crafted, yet full of passion and commitment. Energetic passages flow naturally into lyrical and atmospheric moments, while modern stylistic approaches are combined with a deep respect for the jazz tradition.
A significant milestone in the band’s history was its collaboration with New York guitarist Mike Moreno, which resulted in the recording of the album On The Way Home at Monochrom Studio and a concert tour promoting the release. Following a several-year recording hiatus, the group returned to the studio to record a new album titled A Piece Of A New Day, scheduled for release in 2026.
The Adam Jarzmik Quintet has performed at numerous prestigious jazz festivals in Poland and abroad, including:
Getxo Jazz Festival (Spain), Sibiu Jazz Festival (Romania), St. Ingbert Jazz Festival (Germany), Jazz Marathon Novi Sad (Serbia), Jazz nad Odrą (Poland), Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa (Poland), Kaunas Jazz Festival (Lithuania), JazzBez (Ukraine)
