Tommy Emmanuel

The beloved guitarist from Australia – Tommy Emmanuel – returns to Poland! The artist, who as one of only five musicians in the world can boast the title of Certified Guitar Player, will perform in November 2026 in Warsaw, Wrocław and Szczecin as part of the Living In The Light Tour. Listeners will witness his masterful fingerstyle and slapping technique and his extraordinary sensitivity.

After more than sixty years of his career, one of the most talented and versatile guitarists of our time still has an appetite for further musical adventures! “I feel a bit like the Indiana Jones of the guitar world,” says the globe-trotting fingerstyle master. “I’m in the middle of this crazy expedition, improvising on the fly, and I’m hugely glad that so many people want to experience it together with me.”

It is no wonder, then, that his latest album Living in the Light is one of the boldest yet most satisfying records in the rich discography of this Grammy winner. The record was created in just four days – recorded and mixed together with producer Vance Powell (known for his work with, among others, Jack White, Chris Stapleton and the band Phish). The result is a record full of raw, electrifying energy that appears when the artist gives himself over entirely to the moment, and at the same time intimate. It is a virtuosic blend of acoustic pop, jazz, classical music and roots sounds, created by a master who delights in balancing on the edge.

Instinct has guided the artist practically from the very beginning. Already as a six-year-old he toured his native Australia with a band led by his family. As a teenager he gained a reputation as one of the most sought-after session musicians and accompanying guitarists. When he was just over twenty, he performed with the biggest stars of the Australian music scene, including Air Supply and Men at Work. Inspired by his idol Chet Atkins – who later became his friend, mentor and collaborator – Emmanuel began his solo career in 1979. In the following decades he performed on stages from the Sydney Opera House to Carnegie Hall, toured with Eric Clapton and John Denver, won a Grammy for best instrumental arrangement, played for over two billion viewers during the closing ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000, and collaborated with such legends as Les Paul, Mark Knopfler, Joe Walsh and Richard Thompson.

“The New York Times” called him a genius, and Chet Atkins himself granted him the title of Certified Guitar Player – a distinction received so far by only a handful of artists. “The older I get, the more willing I am to take risks – and the more joy I get from it,” says Emmanuel, who recently celebrated his seventieth birthday. “When young people come to my concerts and suddenly discover that you can be yourself, that music gives infinite possibilities of self-expression – that’s what it’s all about.”

For this artist, adventure lies hidden in every note!

The times given are approximate and may change. Persons under the age of sixteen may attend the concert only under the care of a parent (or a guardian designated by them), and listeners aged sixteen to eighteen must carry a statement of consent to participate in the event, signed by a parent or legal guardian.
