SOYKA / GROTT Orkiestra | Tribute Concert

There are songs that carry something more than a melody: memory, emotion and words one wants to return to. Audiences will be able to experience this during the concert SOYKA / GROTT Orkiestra – in Tribute to the Master. This exceptional evening will be devoted to the work of Stanisław Soyka – one of the most important figures of the Polish music scene, a composer, vocalist and pianist. Well-known artists will present a body of work that has moved successive generations of listeners for more than four decades.

The story of the shared path of Stanisław Soyka and Grott Orkiestra began in 2020. The meeting of the artist’s jazz sensibility with the chamber, modern sound of the family ensemble founded by Kama Grott-Tomaszek and Michał Grott resulted in the project Dusza. Over the following years the musicians performed together at prestigious festivals and on renowned stages, always in close contact with the audience.

At NFM, Stanisław Soyka’s most important compositions will be heard, among them Tolerancja (Na miły Bóg), Cud niepamięci and Są na tym świecie rzeczy, as well as less obvious, intimate elements of his rich repertoire. All the songs will be presented in original arrangements by Michał Grott, which bring out the lyricism, jazz freedom and natural elegance of these pieces. The unique character of the evening will be underlined by a constellation of the most talented musicians. Their different sensibilities, stage experiences and approaches to interpretation will allow these well-known works to be discovered anew. Thanks to this, the artist’s repertoire will remain alive, open and inspiring to future performers.

We invite you to a concert full of fond memories, yet not confined to nostalgia alone. Grott Orkiestra and its guests will prove that Stanisław Soyka’s songs still need to be heard live by an audience that appreciates a good song.
