The album POST-FUNK is the result of years of searching for a sound that Madame Affair can call its own.
The Poznań-based band, like a careful chemist, meticulously measured its ingredients to create something unique, yet still accessible to the listener.
Funky rhythms arrange themselves into geometric shapes, carried along by a stream of liberating energy.
Into this river flowed nu-disco, dance punk, indie rock, soul, and electronics.
Fascination with Talking Heads, LCD Soundsystem, Foals, and David Bowie is also reflected in the lyrics, which serve not only as an emotional release but also as conscious social commentary.

Aleksander Szalonek is a vocalist and songwriter working in the alternative/indie rock vein. He made his debut in 2023 with the single “Dzikie Psy” (Wild Dogs). He became known to a wider audience as a participant in the 12th edition of Must Be the Music, and in 2024 he won the Festival of Young Talents in Szczecin, whose jury was chaired by Kasia Nosowska. This year, his debut album Żaby i Ludzie (Frogs and People) will be released. Long connected with Wrocław, he now lives in Jelenia Góra.

His concerts are an erupting volcano of energy — full of emotion, sincerity, rock passion, and stories about frogs. On stage he is joined by a fiery live band consisting of Piotr Mikler, Piotr Grzegorowski and Wiktor Grabowiecki, which amplifies the power and intensity of his music. Expect dancing, and possibly a few tears.

Aleksander will be promoting his album Żaby i Ludzie (Frogs and People) as well as new singles from an album not yet officially announced!
