PLF (AT/UK) / SC’ÖÖF (CH) / Open Call — Avant Art Festival 2026

PLF (AT/UK) is a trio formed by Peter Kutin, Lukas König and Elvin Brandhi, operating at the intersection of post-punk, free improvisation and post-digital experimentation. The musicians push their individual sounds to the point of overload, where sound becomes almost a scream — a direct, unfiltered form of expression unconstrained by logic, language or conventional harmonic structures.

Peter Kutin performs on self-built instruments based on light and sound feedback, controlling an array of synthesisers. Lukas König combines drums and electronics to create dense, fractured and rapidly shifting rhythmic patterns, while Elvin Brandhi cuts through them with an improvised stream of voice — raw, physical and unpredictable. Their concerts are intense collisions of sound and light, created without backing tracks or safety nets, making each performance a unique event.

Rooted in the ethos of free jazz and DIY culture, PLF’s music forms a category of its own — a kind of stroboscopic improvisation that is brutal, precise and charged with uncontrolled energy. In 2025, the band released its third album, SCREAMERZ, further developing its radical fusion of post-punk and post-digital aesthetics.

SC’ÖÖF (CH) is an experimental quartet from Lucerne that has developed its own radical sonic language. Two saxophones, electric guitar, drums and electronics create dense, precisely constructed music in which acoustic glitch, atonal melodies and repetitive structures collide with jazz, noise, rock, punk, dub and breakbeat. Complex rhythms and unconventional grooves don’t restrain the band’s energy — SC’ÖÖF’s live performances are intense, physical and full of abrupt changes in direction.

The group consists of Noah Arnold and Elio Amberg on saxophones, Christian Zemp on guitar, and Vincent Glanzmann on drums and electronics. SC’ÖÖF have released the albums Kreidenfels, Weaving Elephants and CDR003SA. In 2024, the band received the Zenith Award, presented by the Europe Jazz Network to outstanding European artists working in creative jazz and improvised music.
