Lubelska Federacja Bardow – Live in Wroclaw
Fans of the Polish folk poetry-song tradition are invited on 4 September to the Stained Glass Hall at Stary Klasztor for a concert by the Lubelska Federacja Bardow (Lublin Bards Federation).
The programme Nasze najlepsze (Our Best) features the group’s most warmly received songs, performed by the male line-up of the Federation: Marek Andrzejewski – vocals, compositions, lyrics, guitar; Jan Kondrak – vocals, compositions, lyrics; Piotr Selim – vocals, compositions, piano, keyboards.
The Lubelska Federacja Bardow is a unique performance ensemble proposing its own interpretation of entertainment. In its working method it resembles the artistic cabarets of the past — many authors, composers and performers under one roof. It draws inspiration from the folklore of the Eastern Borderlands and classical music, and connects with ambitious currents of popular music. The group is characterised by an extraordinary power of voices and exceptional attention to both the musical and lyrical dimension of its songs. Notably, both the music and the lyrics are largely the work of the ensemble’s own members. The group has performed at the Wroclaw Review of Actor’s Song, the Student Song Festival in Krakow, the 2nd Festival of True Song in Sopot, and the Olsztyn Castle Meetings. It has performed successfully in Vienna, Paris, New York, Lviv, and repeatedly in London. The group’s albums were recorded in the studio of Polish Radio Programme III and PR Krakow, and were promoted by Polish Radio and TVP.
