Kamil Bednarek – Osiemnastka!

To mark his “eighteenth birthday”, Kamil Bednarek will take the audience on a journey through his entire discography to date, but will also reveal a new sound and lyrical layer with which he intends to connect for the longer term.

Eighteen years have passed since he founded his first band and burst onto the big stage, on which he has continuously shared emotion and sensitivity, garnished with his characteristic sound. This vocalist, composer and multi-instrumentalist won the hearts of listeners in Poland, consistently developing his musical career since 2008. That was when Star Guard Muffin was formed, and the band’s debut EP, Ziemia Obiecana, launched the group’s dynamic rise. In 2010 the band gained enormous popularity thanks to Bednarek’s participation in a television talent show, and the first album Szanuj quickly achieved double-platinum status. A year later the musicians took an inspiring trip to Jamaica, where at the legendary Tuff Gong studio they recorded the maxi-single Jamaican Trip featuring leading local artists such as Capleton, Dean Fraser and The Tamlins.

After personnel changes in 2012, the project BEDNAREK was born, releasing the highly rated album Jestem… The record not only became popular but stayed on the Polish charts for over a year and achieved diamond status. The band continued its streak of successes, receiving among others the MTV Music Award for Best Central European Act in 2013. The following years brought intense artistic activity – releases such as the live recording from the Woodstock Festival Poland (2014), Oddycham featuring the world reggae stars Alborosie and Junior Kelly (2015) and the solo TALIZMAN (2017), which soon after release achieved gold status. In 2018 the artist released the album MTV Unplugged BEDNAREK, another step in his creative development. The year 2019 brought new challenges and projects, including #bednarekinaczej, which began collaborations with leading musicians. The resulting single Bądź przy mnie achieved gold status just two weeks after release. Further tracks such as Momenty, Wojownik Światła and Pull Up heralded the album INACZEJ, released in 2021. Kamil Bednarek remains one of the most recognisable Polish reggae artists, and his work constantly evolves, combining passion, authenticity and modern sounds.
