HABAKUK RETURNS TO WROCŁAW! Over 35 years on stage now!

The band HABAKUK, one of the leading names on the Polish reggae scene, invites you to Stary Klasztor on 9 October.
Fans of reggae music can’t miss this event!
Though associated mainly with reggae, elements of rock, electronics, dub and folk can also be found in their music.
Habakuk was formed in 1990 from the merger of the groups Engaddi and Samuel. The first years of existence were full of rehearsals, a few self-released demo tapes, and above all numerous energetic, passionate concerts that won them acclaim from reggae fans across Poland.
The band’s album debut was “Mniam Mniam REGE!”, released in 1999.
Subsequent albums brought further hits, such as “Rozczochrany Łeb”, “Kiedy Nie Ma Cię” and “Miasto”, the latter featuring a guest appearance by Muniek Staszczyk.
The 2007 album “A Ty Siej…” with the songs of Jacek Kaczmarski in new arrangements drew wide attention.
Habakuk’s most recent release to date is titled “Regrowth” and came out in June 2015. It was created in collaboration with the group Kalokagathos, known for their strong female vocals, singing in white-voice technique, and accordion and percussion sounds.
Today Habakuk’s discography numbers 9 albums and over a dozen singles, and their songs have appeared on many compilations. The band is currently working on new material.
For Habakuk, concerts have always mattered most. Since their founding, the group has played over 1000 of them, both in clubs and at numerous festivals.
In 2007 Habakuk became the first band from Eastern Europe to perform at the world’s biggest festival, the legendary British Glastonbury. They also headlined Przystanek Woodstock and performed at the Spanish festival Rototom Sunsplash.

Over Habakuk’s 35 years, many musicians have passed through the band. From the very beginning its leader and founder, Wojciech “Brodi” Turbiarz, has been part of the lineup. Habakuk currently consists of:
