Ethno Jazz Festival: Joscho Stephan Trio – Gypsy Swing Guitar World Star in Wroclaw
The Ethno Jazz Festival invites you on 23 October to Stary Klasztor for a concert by the JOSCHO STEPHAN TRIO. Special guest: KRZYSZTOF PELECH – one of Poland’s most important classical guitarists.
Joscho Stephan’s trio – with Sven Jungbeck (guitar) and Volker Kamp (double bass) – creates a modern, fresh take on classic swing in the spirit of Django Reinhardt, blending gypsy jazz with Latin, classical, pop and rock influences.
Stephan has collaborated with Bireli Lagrene, Stochelo Rosenberg, Tommy Emmanuel and Daniel Hope, and was the only European guitarist invited to the prestigious George Benson Camp alongside Al Di Meola, Steve Lukather and Tommy Emmanuel.
Press: Stephan’s improvisations are like a captivating dialogue with the audience – full of sparkling ideas, rhythmic energy and virtuosic freedom. / His playing combines the spirit of Django with modern imagination worthy of the greatest guitar masters.
