Ethno Jazz Festival: Fanfare Ciocarlia – Legendary Balkan Brass Band Returns to Wroclaw
FANFARE CIOCARLIA – the band that made the entire world fall in love with wild Balkan rhythms – returns to Wroclaw on 25 October at Stary Klasztor.
In 1997, twelve musicians from Zece Prajini, Romania set out to conquer the world with tubas, tenor horns, trumpets and saxophones – their mission: to unleash the joyful power of Eastern European brass music. Their first album quoted trumpeter Radulescu: wait and see – one day we will play on Mars.
Fanfare Ciocarlia’s talent for blending Balkan brass with jazz, pop and rock – performed with wild precision at breathtaking tempos – has given them cult status across genres. After 25 years and nine studio albums, their latest release It Wasn’t Hard To Love You is a musical ode to their thousands of fans worldwide. A great band from a small village, aspiring to a long future of exciting concerts deep into the night.
