“Dni, których nie znamy” – A Marek Grechuta Tribute at Stary Klasztor

9 October marks the 20th anniversary of the death of Marek Grechuta, one of the most important figures in the history of Polish song — a master of words and music who blended sung poetry with jazz and rock.

On the eve of the anniversary, 8 October, join us in the Gothic Hall at Stary Klasztor for an evening of musical memories featuring the Master’s greatest hits.

“Dni, których nie znamy” (“The Days We Don’t Know”), “Korowód”, “Będziesz moją panią”, “Nie dokazuj”, “Niepewność”, “Wiosna – Ach to ty”, “Świecie nasz”, “Hop – szklankę piwa” (a duet with Maryla Rodowicz), and “Kraków” (recorded with Artur Rojek) are just the start of the long list of Marek Grechuta hits we’ll play and sing together with the audience at this anniversary concert.

The concert will be led by four Wrocław vocalists: Monika Wiśniowska-Basel, Wiktoria Zjawiony, Rafał Lach, and Krystian Gontarz, accompanied on stage by a band of excellent musicians familiar to audiences from concerts at Stary Klasztor.

Monika Wiśniowska-Basel is a charismatic vocalist known from many performances on Wrocław’s stages. Her voice combines emotional sensitivity with technical freedom, giving every song she performs a personal, authentic character. On stage she stands out for her natural presence and strong connection with the audience, moving comfortably between pop, soul, jazz and gospel.

Wiktoria Zjawiony represents the young generation of Polish artists, building her identity at the crossroads of pop and alternative music. Her music stands out for its honesty and emotional delivery, often rooted in personal experience.

Rafał Lach is a Polish musician, composer and vocalist known for his atmospheric sound — moody, often melancholic music with a strong focus on emotion and mood, marked by a calm, slightly “hazy” vocal style and soft, spacious guitars.

Krystian Gontarz is a vocalist and songwriter who began his musical journey at age 6. He plays piano and guitar, and is known for original arrangements and minimalist performances with his own accompaniment, working mainly in pop blended with other genres. He is currently studying stage and jazz vocals at the Grazyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź.
