Crowbar + Dopelord, Piece | Concert

SOLD OUT. A heavy, slow evening full of fat riffs in the middle of summer? Sounds like a perfect plan, especially when it concerns a concert by a legend of sludge. Crowbar return to Poland and on 31 July will perform at Zaklete Rewiry in Wroclaw, in the company of Dopelord and Piece!

Crowbar formed in 1990 on the ruins of The Slugs. With the release of their debut album “Obedience Thru Suffering” they gave rise to the NOLA sludge genre. “This music is slow and fat” – that was how Beavis and Butt-Head commented on the sounds of “Existence is Punishment” from the band’s second album, produced by Phil Anselmo, and it is hard to find a better description of the work of Kirk Windstein’s crew. For nearly four decades the group from New Orleans has stood guard over sludge metal, and over that time its ranks have included musicians from Acid Bath, Pantera and Black Label Society. Crowbar is a living brand of heavy playing that strengthens its legend with every successive record. Their concerts never disappoint, as you will once again be able to see on the last day of July at Wroclaw’s Zaklete Rewiry.

Active since 2010, Dopelord are one of the most important export bands currently coming from our country. Over the years the group has earned the title of a leading representative of contemporary stoner doom, which they confirmed by sharing the stage with Saint Vitus, Candlemass and Orange Goblin. They tour Europe regularly, and began the current year with a tour with Napalm Death. Their discography is rounded off by the 2023 album “Songs for Satan”, and work on its successor is already in the final stretch.

Piece are a trio from Berlin combining doom and sludge. They have already toured with Crowbar and Napalm Death and performed at Desertfest. Last year, under The Charming Man Records, their second full-length “Rambler’s Axe” was released.
