Coals – Magia Tour Live in Wroclaw

Coals — kacha and Lucassi — are a duo who in a decade have gone from DIY YouTube recordings to the stages of international festivals including Primavera Sound, Eurosonic, Positivus and Iceland Airwaves, and collaborations with the biggest names in alternative music. Since their debut in 2017 the duo has become a synonym for Polish indie and never stops evolving. Mixing languages, genres and numerous guests from both the local and international scene, Coals create something that seems almost implausible on the current music scene — their own language, proposing music at the intersection of pop and avant-garde.

During their September tour, the duo will present both new material and well-known tracks from previous albums. A special visual production will open a gateway to the new universe created by the band after a two-year break from releasing music. On stage they will be accompanied by bass, guitar and flute, played by long-time session musician Bobbkovski.

Magia is an impressionistic, visual and symbolic album. It is intimate and rhythmic, almost like dancing alone in a room at night. Nothing here is quite what it seems. The export-quality product of the Polish alternative scene looks inward and promises an experience closer to a waking dream than a classic concert convention. Dissociation becomes the new meditation — and few things capture the feeling of detachment from reality better than a combination of electronic sounds and an ethereal voice that carries across the room.
