Bat Saturday — Lectures, Bat Feeding, and Walks

Meet the extraordinary residents of nighttime Wrocław!

Did you know that there are over 1,350 bat species in the world, and 28 of them live in Poland alone? In Wrocław, you can find at least 17 species!

Bats live almost everywhere in the world. They can “see” with sound thanks to echolocation, spend their lives hanging upside down, are excellent fliers, and each year eat an unimaginable number of insects. They are also important plant pollinators.

Yet they’re our close neighbors — living in parks, attics, cracks in buildings, and other nooks we pass by every day.

Rare, endangered, protected. And above all — beautiful, extraordinary, and mysterious.

Program:
– Fascinating lectures about bats
– A feeding demonstration with rehabilitating bats
– A contest with prizes
– An evening walk with bat detectors through Szczytnicki Park — detector listening sessions and bat observation in their natural habitat, starting at sunset

This will be an evening for anyone who loves nature, curiosities, and discovering what usually stays hidden after dark.

We’ll peek into the nighttime world of bats and find out who’s really flying around Szczytnicki Park while most of us are asleep.
