Archaeological Festival “People of Fire” – Antiquity Live | Wroclaw City Day
We invite you to the 9th meeting with the People of Fire! The best historical re-enactors will present crafts developed in Silesia at the dawn of the Common Era, powered by fire. In the Arsenal courtyard you will encounter brave barbarian warriors who more than once faced Roman legionnaires.
You will literally feel the atmosphere of those times by visiting an ancient kitchen.
Festival highlight: a spectacular demolition of a clay iron-smelting furnace and extraction of a glowing metal lump, modelled on furnaces from 2,000 years ago found at Wroclaw housing estates including Kozanow, Zerniki, Muchoboro Maly, Oporow, Zakrzow, Partynice and Redzin.
Workshops and games for children! Perfect for history enthusiasts and families alike.
Organiser: Archaeological Museum, Branch of Wroclaw City Museum. Funded by the City of Wroclaw.
Accessibility: Ground-level courtyard at the City Arsenal. Facilities for visitors with disabilities. Accessible toilets and shaded seating. Audio description available on both days. Ceramics workshops for children and young people with disabilities held the day before the festival.
