||ALA|MEDA|| Live at Klub Szalonych

The rhythm-making machine is coming to Wrocław! ||ALA|MEDA|| are slowly announcing their new release and heading at full speed to Klub Szalonych at Ruska 47/48a. Expect syncopation, the global south, the wild east, tropics, industrial and dub – dense and heavy.

||ALA|MEDA|| (also known as ALAMEDA 5) is one of the most innovative and original bands to appear on the Polish alternative scene in recent years. For nearly a decade they have been making music that defies classification, blending many genres into a unique style built on constant metamorphosis.

The group’s latest project, “Spectra” (Brutality Garden, 2022/2024), is an original reinterpretation of traditional and modern rhythms of Africa and South America. Heavily syncopated rhythms from two drummer-percussionists (Jacek Buhl, Rafał Iwański) and a bassist (Piotr Michalski) form the scaffolding for wild post-internet, deconstructed electronic collages by Łukasz Jędrzejczak and Jakub Ziołek. The result is a one-of-a-kind tropical-industrial mix in which the avant-garde meets afro-house, and extensive sampling and granular synthesis are fused with the frenetic playing of a live rhythm section, blurring the lines between high and low art, and between music “for the soul” and music “for the body”.

The band is known for extremely intense and euphoric concerts, which have taken them to festivals such as OFF Festival, Bedem Fest (Montenegro), Colours of Ostrava, Positive Futures (Innsbruck), Unsound (Kraków) and many more.
