Folk, shanties, and great fun — 7 Sposobów plays the Stained Glass Hall at Stary Klasztor!

7 Sposobow (7 Ways) is a shanty-folk band founded in 2024 in Wroclaw on the initiative of Wojtek Kuchnowski, who created the core of the group based on his own compositions together with vocalist Ola Momot-Lejkowska. Further musicians gradually joined to form a seven-piece band with a rich, predominantly acoustic line-up. The repertoire evolved as members contributed their own ideas, compositions and lyrics; the band also prepared several covers in original arrangements and their own translations of the original texts.

The group’s style draws on seafaring tradition, shanties and forecastle songs — primarily in its lyrical layer — while musically it is highly eclectic, drawing from various styles and genres with a rich harmonic and arrangement dimension. The band has produced the song Rycerz Swiety Jerzy (Saint George the Knight), concerning the Battle of Oliwa, which gained considerable popularity (130,000 plays on YouTube and excellent reviews). 7 Sposobow began performing in October 2025 and this year will appear at the Szanty Kunice festival among others.
