Not everything worthwhile happens on the biggest stages. Sometimes the best shows start with a message sent to a friend five minutes before the first song. Someone brings a camera. Someone counts out change for one last vinyl to buy on the spot. Someone digs through Bandcamp a month later because they photographed a band name off a poster. And everyone else uses the night as an excuse to meet up with friends around town afterward. Any excuse is a good one to go offline for a night.

3Hz collects nights like these.

From late August through December, we rotate between Barbara, Recepcja, and Klub pod Kolumnami — listening, talking, resting in our three spaces, and taking stock of what Wrocław’s alternative scene has to offer.

3Hz presents: Bagdad.

It started with two friends, a guitar, and a bass. In autumn 2023, Franek Drobiński and Wojtek Stach began playing together, and what started as a simple musical meetup quickly grew into something bigger. Today, as Bagdad, together with Mateusz Cuper on drums, they’re crafting one of the more interesting new guitar sounds on the Wrocław scene.

The Wrocław trio draws on the raw energy of ’90s grunge, the slow tension of slowcore, and a kind of melancholy that doesn’t need big words. Their music can be quiet and focused one moment, then open into a wide wall of guitar sound the next.

In summer 2024 the band began work on their debut EP “They Don’t Know”, material where fragile, intimate moments meet stronger, emotionally charged outbursts. Bagdad likes to build atmosphere, leave room for tension, and let songs unfold slowly.
